Spin's Story

Spin was found by a soldier after having his ears and tail cropped.  It was likely that he had been taken as a fighting dog but was dumped because it was soon discovered that he is deaf.

Luckily he was rescued when he was as he wouldn’t have lasted long on the streets and roads of Afghanistan.

Fortunately his deafness is no problem for his soldier, who also has a deaf horse!

Spin is a gentle giant who loves to be cuddled.  While he waited at the shelter for his chance to leave the country all who dealt with him absolutely loved him.

Spin is now living happily with his soldier and his family in Denver.
His owner did take him to a veterinarian as soon as he arrived to see if his hearing  problem could be corrected but unfortuantely it appears he was born deaf.  Even though nothing can be done to improve his hearing he is doing very well.  He licks his owners hands when he wants to go out, plays with all, and is very happy.
Thank you for helping create more happy endings!
